Cam Chart Definitions

 
Lift The amount of lift at tappet in pushrod engines, lift at valve in OHC engines, measured in inches.
LCA The Lobe Center Angle, measured in degrees.
Lash Measured in inches.
Tappet The type of tappet.
Flat - Flat tappet
R - 1 1/8" radius tappet
S - 3/4" radius tappet
Duration The length of time the valve is open, measured in degrees.
Open When the valve opens, measured in degrees.
Intake valve is measured Before Top Dead Center.
Exhaust valve is measured Before Bottom Dead Center.
Close When the valve closes, measured in degrees.
Intake valve is measured After Bottom Dead Center.
Exhaust valve is measured After Top Dead Center.
At The measurements are lift at tappet, measured in inches. Please note that two measurements are provided for timing specifications- some cam grinders use .020 in., some use .040 in.. Both specifications are provided for your convenience.

Shipping Instructions

  • Our preferred carrier is UPS. Use whatever method you prefer.

  • Many of your parts are irreplaceable- package them accordingly.

    • Bag, box, or wrap your parts before placing into the shipping box- it costs us time to remove plastic peanuts, shredded paper, or whatever else that gets stuck into ports, between fins, and in other nooks and crannies.

    • Any documents such as parts lists or instructions should be placed in an envelope or some such, and placed into the shipping container last so that it will be found first. Alternately you should tape an envelope on the outside of  the box.

    • Please include a phone number so that we can get in touch if we have any questions for you.

  • Dirty parts are unpleasant to handle, and our parts cleaner is highly paid. You will save yourself time and money by cleaning your parts before shipping.

  • We will insure your parts for the amount of our charges for return to you. If you want additional insurance please specify the amount.
