Cam Chart Definitions
| Lift
|
The amount lift at tappet
in pushrod engines, lift at valve in OHC engines, measured in inches.

| LCA
|
The Lobe Center Angle, measured in degrees.
|
| Lash
|
Measured in inches.
|
| Tappet
|
The type of tappet.
Flat - Flat tappet
R - 1 1/8" radius tappet
S - 3/4" radius tappet
|
| Duration
|
The length of time the valve is open, measured in degrees.
|
| Open
|
When the valve opens, measured in degrees.
Intake valve is measured Before Top Dead Center.
Exhaust valve is measured Before Bottom Dead Center.
|
| Close
|
When the valve closes, measured in degrees.
Intake valve is measured After Bottom Dead Center.
Exhaust valve is measured After Top Dead Center.

| At
|
The measurements are lift at tappet, measured in inches. Please
note that two measurements are provided for timing specifications- some cam
grinders use .020 in., some use .040 in.. Both specifications are provided for
your convenience.
